Spent most of his life in Michigan, particularly in the Detroit and Grand Rapids areas. Graduated from Warren High School and lettered in football, basketball and track. Was offered numerous scholarships in football and chose Western Michigan University and played until his right knee was severely injured. While in high school Greg also boxed in the Golden Gloves and had many amateur fights winning local tournaments and eventually winning the Michigan AAU light-heavyweight championship. After his knee injury in college went back into boxing to pay for his education. He lost his first 6 fights but obtained some excellent training and went on to win 36 in a row. He graduated with a Bachelor and Masters of Science in Manufacturing Engineering from Western. His first job was working for General Motors in Grand Blanc, Michigan. He left GM and obtained a teaching position as a professor at Lawrence Institute of Technology in Southfield, Michigan and then to Western Michigan University as a professor in the Engineering Department. While teaching furthered his education and received a PhD from Wayne State University in Detroit and a Doctor of Business Administration from California Coastal University in Riverside, California.

Greg’s father was severely injured in Korea, spent years in the Naval Hospital in San Diego, California and spent his younger years raised by his mom’s parents in Ohio. It was his grandfather that introduced him to hunting accompanying him on many white-tail hunts. It was not until mid-life that Greg had the time and resources to really embrace hunting. He became very active in numerous hunting associations and has won most every award offered by Safari Club International. Three years ago was honored by SCI in Nashville with the World Hunting and Conservation Award completing every Inner Circle at the diamond level and every Grand Slam. Less than 100 people in the world have won that award. With his wife by his side they have hunted and visited all seven continents. There adventures are still growing strong. ​
